Ms. Storrie
Ms. Storrie is the LRC Director at Pleasant Ridge. She began teaching in 2000, and has been a 3rd and 4th grade classroom teacher, a reading intervention teacher, a librarian, and a technology coach. She began as the librarian at Pleasant Ridge in 2015, and worked in District 34 for two years before that. Her favorite thing about being a librarian is helping kids find the perfect books to help them realize the magic of reading. Some of her favorite authors are Dr. Seuss, Mo Willems, Amy Krouse Rosenthal, Doreen Cronin, Kate DiCamillo, and Katherine Applegate. When she was a kid, her favorite picture book was Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak, her favorite poetry book was Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein, and her favorite chapter book was A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L'Engle.
When she is not at Pleasant Ridge, Ms. Storrie lives in Chicago with her husband, two children, and two dogs, Charley and Roscoe. Besides reading and spending time with her family, she likes to ride her bike and explore the city. |
Mrs. Neiweem
Mrs. Neiweem is the LRC Associate at Pleasant Ridge School. She has worked in District 34 for more than 20 years, and has been in the LRC since 2012.
She loves to read your favorite books! She likes Realistic Fiction and any ocean related topics. She loves working with children and helping them find a good book. Mrs. Neiweem lives in Glenview. She is married, has 3 children, and a cat named Momo. She likes tending to her many tropical plants, riding her bike and swimming in the ocean. Her favorite place to visit is Florida. |
